I have only gone back country skiing twice now. The first time left me a little disappointed and not looking forward to doing it again. Really cold, snowing and not knowing what to expect made me miserable.Needless to say that was last year, and this year was ...... amazing!

We are weird I know!
The boys love taking pics of there girly long johns, and just had to take one with all of us when they saw that Cara and I had the same pair.
(Best part is, Clays are from the kids section at REI and our girls have matching like DADDY!)
Sunny warm, soft soft powder and a great group of friends made it the best ever. Who cares if I only got in 3 runs. They were the best runs I've had all year! We got out there and figured the snow would probably be pretty crusty with how warm its been. Heaven knows that the resorts are horrable right now. Hiking in we couldn't believe just how soft and pillowy this snow was.

The hike wasn't to bad also. Not my favorite part, and I'm really out of shape, but not so bad that I couldn't do it. I told Clay that I would go, but a trip to a hot springs after would really sweeten the deal! Now I think that Im going to say that that's a mandatory part of the backcountry for me! ;)
